2,5-Di-tert-butylperoxy-2,5-dimethylhexane (DHBP), also known as 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert-butylperoxy) hexane, is a pale yellow, oily organic peroxide widely used as a crosslinking agent and vulcanizing agent for polymers such as silicone rubber and ethylene propylene rubber, as well as a curing agent for unsaturated polyesters. It can improve the strength of products but has low volatility, a special odor, and needs to be stored at low temperatures.
High-efficiency vulcanization/crosslinking: Serves as a high-temperature vulcanizing agent for vinyl silicone rubber (VITON), and a crosslinking agent for polyethylene, ethylene propylene rubber (EPR), and polyurethane rubber.
Excellent physical properties: Improves the tensile strength and hardness of rubber products.
Low compression set: Significantly reduces the elongation and compression set of vulcanized products.
Low odor: It produces the least odor among alkyl peroxides during vulcanization, without the unpleasant odor of diisopropylbenzene peroxide (DIPB).
Easy to mix: The paste form (e.g., DHBP-45) is easily and evenly dispersed into the rubber compound during mixing.
Odorless decomposition products: The decomposition products are virtually odorless, unlike other peroxides that have an off-odor.

Polymer crosslinking agent: This is an organic peroxide crosslinking agent widely applicable to various polymers, especially suitable for the polymerization and crosslinking of polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE) and ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers. The crosslinking temperature is above 170°C; crosslinking does not occur below 140°C. The dosage is 0.5%-3% (w/w), and in some materials that are not easily crosslinked, the dosage is generally 1%-5%.
High-temperature vulcanizing agent for vinyl silicone rubber: It is also an excellent vulcanizing agent for other types of rubber. Rubber vulcanized with this product has outstanding advantages such as high tensile strength and high hardness.
Excellent degradation agent for polypropylene: The degradation temperature is 200-220°C, and the dosage is 0.01-0.1%. It can produce rheology polypropylene with low molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution and high melt index. It can be used as an important initiator for high-speed spinning materials, coating materials, film materials, and casting plastics, and is the preferred raw material for producing cooling masterbatches.
High-temperature curing agent for unsaturated polyesters.
Silicone Rubber: A highly efficient high-temperature vulcanizing agent that imparts high tensile strength and hardness to products.
Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR/EPDM): Used as a crosslinking agent to improve performance.
Polyethylene (PE): Used for crosslinking to improve material properties.
Polyurethane Rubber: Can also be used as a vulcanizing agent.
Curing Agents: Used for curing unsaturated polyesters.
